Allegiant launched a new nonstop flight service from Flint on Wednesday.

The airline announced a new service from Flint to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

They are offering one-way fares on the new route for as low as $45 to celebrate.

“We’re excited to begin new nonstop, ultra-low-cost flights to Myrtle Beach for Flint-area travelers,” said Drew Wells, Allegiant vice president of revenue and planning. “This new destination is perfect for a sunny getaway to relax on the beach, hit up a golf course and enjoy what this fun-filled destination has to offer.”

The route is seasonal and will operate twice weekly from Flint Bishop International Airport to Myrtle Beach International Airport.

The news came as the last Southwest Airlines flight left the airport. Southwest announced last November it would no longer do business out of Flint.
