Two people were arrested and several drugs were seized from a hotel room in Roscommon County over the weekend.
The Roscommon County Sheriff’s Office was called to the hotel for possible drug activity.
Deputies made contact with the occupants of the hotel room and noticed evidence of drug activity.
The deputies obtained a search warrant and searched the hotel room, with the assistance of the Denton Township Police Department, Michigan State Police’s STING Narcotics Team and K9 Officer Kato.
Officers located a large amount of methamphetamine, morphine, suspected fentanyl, marijuana, marijuana edibles and other drug paraphernalia, the sheriff’s office said.
They also found large amounts of cash.
A man and a woman were arrested and lodged in the Roscommon County Jail. The man is currently on parole, the sheriff’s office said.
Their identities have not been released.
“We need your help in fighting this epidemic of opiates and methamphetamine that has been plaguing our community in recent months. This is just one example of how citizens, who are aware of their surroundings and are brave enough to speak up, can make all of the difference in helping us rid our neighborhoods of these terrible drugs,” the sheriff’s office said.
