Monday is National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day!

This day was created as a way to raise awareness for thousands of pets that are waiting for their forever homes.

Approximately 7.6 million animals enter shelters nationwide every year. Of those, approximately 3.9 million are dogs and 3.4 million are cats, according to the ASPCA.

You can also celebrate National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day by sharing pictures of your adopted pet on social media using #AdoptAShelterPetDay.

If you can care for a pet, consider adopting!
