Fire at Alma car dealership

The St. Louis Fire Department is investigating what started a large blaze at a Mid-Michigan car dealership.

St. Louis Fire Chief Richard Apps said crews were dispatched to the Alma Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram dealership for smoke coming out of the building on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 3.

When St. Louis and Alma fire crews arrived they found smoke pouring out of the building.

As firefighters got to work the flames became more intense and more departments were sent to assist, including the Breckenridge, Ithaca, and Shepherd fire departments, Chief Apps said.

The scene was cleared at about 1 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4.

During the night, firefighters came back to the scene twice to put out hot spots.

No one was in the building during the fire, Apps said.
