Huron County Sheriff’s Office is reporting a second motorcycle accident involving a deer just before dawn within two weeks.
We want to advise readers this story contains graphic details.
On Monday, May 14 at 5:55 a.m., Sgt. James Hunt responded to the area of Atwater Road and Barrie Road in Sheridan Township for the accident.
The office’s investigation shows that Bryan M. Bland, a 24-year-old man from Ubly, and his friend riding on another motorcycle were westbound when Bland hit a deer.
Deputies said upon impact the deer virtually exploded, injuring Bland but he maintained his balance.
Bland’s friend was able to avoid the deer.
When Bland did stop, his friend had to help Bland off his motorcycle and on to the ground.
Both motorcyclists were covered in fecal and inner matter from the deer.
Bland was taken to Huron Medical Center for treatment by the Bingham Ambulance Service.
The Bingham Township Fire Department also responded and assisted at the scene.
The Huron County Sheriff’s Office said there is an abnormal increase of accidents involving deer.
Drivers are advised to use extreme caution, especially motorcyclist because of the increased risk of serious injuries.
