An Ohio police station was a bit skeptical when a man called to report he was being followed by a pig, but it turns out he wasn't joking.

North Ridgeville Police Department said they received a call about 5:26 a.m. Saturday, May 19 from a man claiming he was being followed by a pig while walking home from a train station and didn't know what to do.

The department said they figured the caller was drunk and hallucinating, but sent an officer to the area.

“Upon arrival, they found a very sober male walking eastbound on Center Ridge near Maddock Rd. from the actual Amtrak train station in Elyria, not the bar. Oh, and he was being followed by a pig. Yes, a pig,” the department wrote on Facebook.

The officer managed to “wrangle” the pig into his cruiser.

“Is this real life? Also, we will mention the irony of the pig in a police car now so that anyone that thinks they’re funny is actually unoriginal and trying too hard,” the department joked.

The pig was returned to its owner later that morning, the department said.
