A local cheerleading squad is on its way to the Citrus Bowl, but it needs help getting there.
The Essexville-Hampton Garber High School cheerleading team is raising money to help make their way to the Florida competition on New Year’s Eve.
It’s the first bowl game performance for the team since 1995 when they were part of the Peach Bowl. The team will perform in front of thousands during the pregame show as Louisville takes on LSU at Camping World Stadium.
The girls need to raise $18,000 to pay for the trip. They’ve already raised $12,000 through fundraising in the community, but now they’re looking for help from local businesses and individual donations.
Those interested in making a donation can email Coach Jamey Listermen at firstname.lastname@example.org or send a donation directly to Garber High School.
