Sgt Terry Spencer

Pinconning Police Capt. Terry Spencer has been released from the hospital after he was found hurt in his patrol vehicle.

Bay County Sheriff Troy Cunningham said that Thursday night, Sept.12, a Pinconning Police Officer became concerned when Capt. Spencer didn’t show up for a training exercise.

A sheriff’s deputy went to the Pinconning police station, and Spencer was found in the garage, sitting in the passenger seat of his car.

The Pinconning Police Department said he was disoriented, had facial and head trauma, and sustained a concussion.

Sheriff Cunningham believes Spencer had a medical issue that caused him to fall, but it remains under investigation.

Spencer was taken to Covenant Hospital in Saginaw and remained in the ICU for three days.

The police department said he has been released from the hospital and is recovering at home.

“Captain Spencer wanted to personally thank everyone who reached out to his family and himself with prayers and well wishes,” the Pinconning Police Department wrote on Facebook.

The investigation is being handled by the Bay County Sheriff’s Office. Anyone with more information on this incident is asked to call (989) 895-4050.
