Police arrest man suspected of robbing three Mid-Michigan banks

Authorities say they have arrested a man suspected of robbing three Mid-Michigan banks.

Saginaw Township Police Department said on Wednesday, April 18 at about 2 p.m. a 40-year-old man robbed the Chemical Bank in Flint Township.

A Mt. Morris Township police officer saw the suspect vehicle and arrested the man shortly after the robbery.

Investigators said the man matched the description of a suspect who robbed the First State Bank on State Street on Feb. 13, as well as the Frankenmuth Credit Union on Erna Drive on April 13.

Police seized evidence from the suspect’s home which linked him to both robberies in Saginaw Township.

During the robbery at Frankenmuth Credit Union, police said the suspect walked into the bank and gave a note to the teller ordering them to give him money. The suspect put the money into a backpack he was carrying and left the credit union in a dark-colored Oldsmobile Alero.

The man is being held in the Genesee County Jail.
