Authorities say an argument led a man to hit a woman several times with his vehicle in the city of Saginaw.

Saginaw Police and Michigan State Police were called to the intersection of Clark Street and Schaefer Street about 2 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2 for reports of a woman lying in the road.

When investigators arrived, they found the 42-year-old woman had been approximately 5-7 times by a vehicle.

“This incident escalated from an argument, fist fight, and ending with a vehicular assault,” Sgt. Reggie Williams said.

The woman was taken to a local hospital. Her condition is unknown at this time.

The driver of the vehicle, a 35-year-old man was arrested.

He’s being held in the Saginaw County Jail.
