More wind turbines were escorted through Bay Count on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, five wind turbine semis were escorted through the area as well from I-75 to eastbound Wilder Road and Tiernan Road.

Dozens of wind turbines are set to be put up in Juniata Township.

The project from Next Era Energy would bring 62 turbines to the area. Residents said the company doesn't have all the permits needed to start.

"They still need something from the FAA, the Michigan DEQ. We have a meeting coming up in a few weeks," said Nancy Laskowski, resident.

Over the past few days crews have paved Ringle Road, where some of the turbines are supposed to go.

Laskowski and fellow resident Garrett Tetil said the road commission has confirmed the paving is for the wind project.

"They're commissioning the roads right now to make sure they're the right grade to bring their parts down," Tetil said.

A spokesperson for Next Era Energy said he wasn't aware of the roadwork on Ringle Road, but said he would look into it.
