My heart is still racing from witnessing this accident in Saginaw Township.
I was driving down Fashion Square Boulevard toward the mall when I came around a small bend and saw an SUV rolling. I watched it roll twice before landing upright before the 1st State Bank building.
I immediately threw my car in park and ran to the vehicle I watched roll as the driver of the other vehicle was already out of his car. As I got to the SUV two bystanders were already there helping a man crawl out of a dark driver's seat.
I could see that the airbag was deployed and fluids were now leaking on to the roadway and they were steaming. The driver of the the other vehicle frantically ran over. I reached for my phone to call 9-1-1. I could see the other vehicle was up on the curb on the opposite side of the road. Both drivers were conscious and coherent. The driver of the SUV appeared to be bleeding from his one hand.
I realized after that I left my car running and driver's side door open in the middle of the road. I was just happy to learn that both men were not seriously injured.
