In Bay City a sugar beet truck rolled over and caused a road closure on Saturday morning.

Michigan State Police Lt. David Kaiser said the truck driver was westbound on Salzburg Avenue and tried to turn southbound onto South Euclid Avenue.

Before making the turn the driver was suppose to lift two axles, but they accidentally activated the dolly lock and straightened out the semi-truck.

The dolly lock is used to lock the second trailer to with the lead trailer.

Kaiser said with the locked up trailers, failure to lift the axles, and going too fast, the truck hit a curb and rolled over.

The accident is believed to be caused by human error and not equipment failure, Kaiser said.

The intersection was reopened at about 2:30 p.m.

No one was hurt in this accident, but the driver was issued a citation for going too fast.
