(KKTV/CNN/Meredith) -- Parents in Colorado Springs were shocked after police revealed secrets about their children’s daycare.

Police said they went out to do a welfare check on Play Mountain Place after someone told them they were taking care of more kids than they were allowed.

Police ending up finding a “false wall” and 26 kids – all under age 3 – behind it in the house.

What’s more shocking is the house is not the actual daycare where the children were supposed to be – it is the daycare owner’s house.

Police said when they showed up to Play Mountain Place, no one was there. So, they went to the owner’s house, which is on the same property.

Police said daycare owner Carla Faith refused to cooperate, but police could hear the sounds of children coming from the house.

That's when they found a fake wall leading to a basement filled with 26 kids and two adults, which is well above the acceptable ratio of adults to kids put in place by the state.

Parents told KKTV they felt completed betrayed for leaving their children in Faith’s care.

“Every parent that I have talked to, we all feel completely betrayed. It's so hard to trust your children with people and we felt like we could really trust them,” parent Jeanette Conde said.

However, another parent said she hopes the overcrowding issue is solely because Faith felt bad turning kids away.

“Carla seems like such a nice person and she's been so accommodating. Perhaps she has a hard time saying no, I'm just gonna have to chalk it up to that,” parent Sherry MacWilliam said.

Thursday, a preschool called Counterpoint, which is also owned by Faith, was also raided by Department of Human Services.

Both locations have had their license suspended.

Faith has not been arrested, but police said charges may come in the future after investigation.
