(Meredith) -- The coronavirus pandemic has completely decimated the American restaurant industry.

Putting numbers on the damage can be tough, but the National Restaurant Association has tried.

Despite the survey finding that six out of ten restaurants are still open, two-thirds of restaurant employees lost their jobs.

Even when restaurants are able to survive with takeout, they are still being forced to let workers go.

To deal with this impact, the association is asking Congress to consider its "Blueprint for Recovery."

The National Restaurant Association wants the industry to receive its own recovery fund worth $240 billion.
