Vandalized community garden in Saginaw

A community garden was created a few weeks ago, but it was the target of vandals on Thursday night.

Someone stole a handful of whole plants and destroyed several others at the H.M. Boyd Community Garden on South Hamilton in Saginaw.

It’s been a recurring problem.

“We don’t want the neighbors to come out here and work so hard on this project and children in the neighborhood have helped us plant vegetables out here, so we don’t want those people to have done all of that work and then have to come out here and see those things,” said Heather Boyd, the Co-Creator of H.M. Boyd Community Garden.

Organizers are exploring different security options for next year.
