A Mid-Michigan woman has been charged, accused of making up a story about being kidnapped and sexually assaulted.

Valerie Lesoski, 38, from Caro, was arraigned on Nov. 30 on a series of charges including false report of kidnapping and false report of criminal sexual conduct in the first degree.

She told Michigan State Police that on Oct. 30 she was abducted and sexually assaulted when she stopped in the area of Riley Road, between Pierce and E. Dayton Roads in the Tuscola County community of Caro, to help a pair of men stranded on the side of the road.

She claimed she was forced into a vehicle and then driven to an unknown location where she was assaulted.

On Nov. 9 investigators said they determined the claims were false.

Lesoski is free on a $15,000 personal recognizance bond.

If convicted, she faces up to 4 years in prison.
