A Mid-Michigan senior is hoping for help before winter approaches.

"Well, my window here in the kitchen, the crank broke," said Dixie Menzel, Bay Port resident.

The 72-year-old is afraid her heating bills will go through the roof this year if the window isn't fixed.

"It don't work anymore and it doesn't shut right and I get cold air coming through it," she said.

Menzel said she's had to deal with other major bills recently as well.

"My furnace went up. I had to get a new furnace. I had to take a loan out to get a new furnace," she said.

Menzel could also have a couple of other windows replaced at the house. One of her bedroom windows and garage windows leak.

She has lived in the house since 1975 and hopes someone can help her with the windows.
