The woman accused of hitting and killing a local tow truck driver has been sentenced.

Deeann Parsons, 49, was sentenced to 42 months to 15 years behind bars in connection with the death of Thomas Tripp.

She was accused of driving under the influence in the Jan. 10 crash on Dixie Highway in Saginaw County’s Bridgeport Township.

Police said Parsons was behind the wheel of a Jeep Cherokee that killed the Mike’s Wrecker employee.

Tripp was attending to a disabled vehicle when he was hit.

Parsons was given credit for three days served when she was sentenced Wednesday afternoon.
