ETTRICK, Va. (WWBT/Gray News) - Two men are facing charges after a shooting at Virginia State University left four people injured.

On Wednesday, around 12:30 a.m., Chesterfield and campus police responded to a reported shooting on Boisseau Street near Daniel Gymnasium.

“On scene, officers located four individuals that were shot. All four victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment,” Chesterfield Police said.

Police said all four people, two men and two women, are expected to survive.

None of the victims are students, according to police.

On Wednesday afternoon, police confirmed two men, identified as Xavier J. Gordon, 21 and Clyde D. White, Jr., 21, were taken into custody in connection to the shooting. Both men are facing gun charges.

Police also confirmed neither Gordon nor White were enrolled at the university, and it appears the shooting was an isolated incident.

It’s unclear whether the suspects and the victims knew each other.

Police say there is no threat to the campus community.

Classes are expected to start Monday. A spokesperson for the university says freshmen and a few upperclassmen were on campus at the time of the shooting.
