State police find nearly $2 million worth of cocaine hidden in vehicle during traffic stop

GREENSVILLE COUNTY, Va. (WWBT/Gray News) - Authorities in Virginia say two Florida men are facing charges after police found kilos of cocaine in their vehicle.

According to the Virginia State Police, the drug bust occurred after a vehicle was stopped by police on Interstate 95 this week.

“Following a positive alert by a narcotics canine, a search of the vehicle was conducted,” state police said in a news release.

Police said they ended up finding 20 kilos of cocaine in the vehicle, which has a street value of nearly $2 million.

The men in the vehicle, Joel Garcia-Damian, 36, and Luis Abdiel Padilla-Martell, 23, were arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute and transport of narcotics into the Commonwealth.
