GOODRICH, Mich. (WNEM) - Now to girls flag football... The Michigan High School State Championship Tournament begins tomorrow at the home of the Lions... Ford Field in Detroit... with two Mid-Michigan teams earning their spot by winning their division, and they will go head-to-head in the first round.

Goodrich finishes the season with a perfect 4-0 record... winning the Forward Down The Field League... as Carman-Ainsworth went 3-0-1, capturing the One Pride League title.

The Martians and Cavaliers will meet tomorrow morning at 9:30, with the winner advancing to the quarterfinals on Sunday Morning.

“Honestly, kind of surreal,” said Ceana Wilson, Goodrich senior wide receiver, safety, and linebacker. I did not expect to ever play football on Ford Field, knowing that our football team made it to the state championship years back and won it, and knowing we’re playing on that same field, it’s really cool.”

CHLOE SHAMPINE: GOODRICH SENIOR LINEBACKER: “I’m just really excited just to go out and have fun, said Chloe Shampine, Goodrich senior linebacker. This may or may not be our last game, so I just really want to go out with a bang since it’s our senior year, and I just really want to make the fullness of it.”
