Local high school basketball game to raise money for women’s center

BAY COUNTY, Mich. (WNEM) — A Pajama Game fundraiser will take place during the high school basketball matchup between Bay City Central and Bay City Western on Thursday, Feb. 12.

The varsity girls basketball game will start at 6 p.m., followed by the varsity boys basketball game at Bay City Central High School.

Each spectator is encouraged to wear pajamas and bring nonperishable food or other goods for the Bay Area Women’s Center. Essential items the center needs include body wash, shampoo, conditioner, shaving cream, deodorant, diapers, sizes 5 and 6, baby wipes, feminine hygiene products, paper towels, paper plates, toilet paper, disinfectant wipes, bath towels and pajamas for adults and children.

Last year’s event had more than 1,000 participants, according to the event’s creator.
