Car crashes into Detroit Metro Airport Evans Terminal; man detained
Passengers had to wait outside the closed terminal for about an hour.
ROMULUS, Mich. (NEWS 10) - A man has been detained after crashing a car into the Evans Terminal at Detroit Metro Airport Friday morning.
The crash happened around 10 a.m. and left the terminal closed until about 11 a.m., according to WDIV in Detroit.
Officials are expected to hold a press conference to provide the latest updates on the incident at 2:15 p.m. You can watch on the free News 10+ app or in the player above.
More than 40 flights have been canceled or delayed at DTW on Friday, but it’s not clear whether they are related to the incident.
Travelers were seen waiting in long lines outside the terminal while police worked at the scene.

The extent of the damage to the building is not immediately clear.
DTW officials said no serious injuries have been reported. Officials will continue to provide updates as they become available.
The crash came nearly four months after a man crashed a car into the baggage check-in area at the McNamara Terminal in January.
