Great Lakes Bay Pride kicks off Pride Month with events across four counties

SAGINAW, Mich. (WNEM) - Pride Month is officially underway with the start of June.

Throughout the month, Great Lakes Bay Pride will be hosting programs and events to educate the community about LGBTQ2S+ issues, all while celebrating diversity, equity, and belonging in Bay, Isabella, Midland, and Saginaw counties.

Activities and events in June include:

  • Pride Communion Service: The Episcopal Churches of Bay City will offer a special communion service at Trinity Episcopal Church on Monday, June 1st, at 6:30 p.m. The service will feature the Harmony Diversity Choir, a program of Great Lakes Bay Pride.
  • Pride Yard Signs: The annual yard sign campaign features a new design for 2026. Signs can be picked up on Monday, June 1st in Midland, Tuesday, June 2nd in Bay City and Saginaw, or Wednesday, June 3rd in Mount Pleasant.
  • Pride Night at the Loons: Great Lakes Bay Pride and Dow GLAD+ have teamed up with the Great Lakes Loons to host the 9th annual Pride Night game on Friday, June 5th. The game starts at 7:05 p.m. at Dow Diamond and will feature local resources along the concourse and a Pride theme throughout the park. Tickets are available now!
  • Mount Pleasant Pride Festival: Great Lakes Bay Pride and its Michigan Two-Spirit and Indigiqueer Coalition will host the Mount Pleasant Pride Festival on Saturday, June 20th from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Broadway Park in Mount Pleasant. Admission is free for this family-friendly event. This is an alcohol and drug-free event out of respect for the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Community.
  • Mount Pleasant Drag Show: The fun keeps going as we move to the Swan Creek Ballroom at Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort for an After Party Drag Show featuring talented drag entertainers and lots of fun! The show starts at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 20th. Tickets are available in advance or at the door.
  • Great Lakes Bay Pride Festival: The regional Great Lakes Bay Pride Festival will be hosted at the Jolt Credit Union Event Park in downtown Saginaw! The regional festival will take place on Saturday, June 27th, from 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. The family-friendly event includes a children’s activity area, live entertainment from local performers, food trucks, and over 80 retail and resource vendors. The Great Lakes Bay Pride Festival is free to attend.
  • After Party Drag Show: The biggest and best drag show in the area immediately follows the regional festival and it’s right across the street! Doors open to the Dow Event Center Red Room at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 27th, with DJ Club Kid spinning dance tracks until 8:00 p.m. Then the drag show kicks off with a mix of fabulous local and Michigan entertainers. Tickets are available in advance or at the door. Admission is limited to 18+ years old. Seating is limited and first come, first served.
